Nicole Kidman is an Australian actress, singer and film producer with 63 on screen credits to her name. And as it turns out she has played a great deal of fantastically named characters, many of which with vintage appellations.

Ada-Short form of Adelaide (and other names with similar sounds) meaning “noble,” it was a sensation in the nineteenth century ranking as high as #33 in 1880.
Claudia-The feminine form of the Roman family name Claudius meaning “lame, crippled.”
Devlin-From an Irish and Scottish surname which is the anglicized form of Ó Dobhailéin meaning “descendant of Dobhailéan.” It is probably a diminutive of dobhail meaning “unfortunate, unlucky.”
Faunia-A variant of the name Fauna, possibly meaning “to befriend” in Latin. Fauna was the goddess of fertility.
Gertrude-A Germanic name meaning “spear of strength.” Saint Gertrude the Great was a 13th-century nun and mystic writer.
Millicent-From the Germanic name Amalasuintha meaning “work, labour” and “strength.”

Norma-Created by Felice Romani for his opera “Norma.” He could have based it on Latin norma “rule.” Although it is often used as a feminine form of Norman which means “northman.”
Petra-Feminine form of the Greek Peter meaning “stone.”
Rae-Short form of Rachel meaning “ewe.” It can also be used as a feminine form of Ray.
Satine-Probably derived from Latin satin, the French word for the fabric. It was popularised in France after the movie Moulin Rouge came out, before then it had not been used.
Virginia-Feminine form of the Roman family name Virginius, although the meaning is unknown it had been often associated with Latin virgo meaning “maid, virgin.”

    I like almost every name on this list, Ada, Claudia, Faunia, Gertrude, Millicent, Petra, Satine, Virginia. And I hate to admit, but I find Devlin on a girl exceedingly charming.
