This was originally going to be a post about mermaids, but I decided to switch it up and change it to all merfolk. Basically merfolk refer to creatures such as mermaids, selkie and sirens. They are typically people of the sea with a human head, torso and arms and the tail of a fish. Selkies differ though they live in the sea as seals and then shed their skin on land to become human.
